Facebook the new MySpace?

Google+ opened at the end of June/early July 2011, but only to a select few. It was invite only. However, just in the last week, the social-networking site was opened to the public and its use shot up 1269% according to PCWorld.

I knew someone who was invited to use +, so I signed up but rarely went on it because no one else had an account. However, now that the site is open to the public, I have seen more and more of my friends setting up their own accounts. I visit the site more frequently now, but still don’t use it as my first source for social-networking. Facebook is still the leader, but some predict + to make facebook the new myspace.

Any thoughts on the new networking site from google? Any one have a + account? How does it compare to facebook? Better or worse? Do you think it will ever surpass Mark Zuckerberg’s facebook?
